What needs to be different? Part 2
The truth is that nothing in your life needs to be different, for you to experience less anxiety, no anxiety, and no panic attacks.
If someone had told me that, when I was experiencing anxiety to the extreme, I would not have believed them.
I would have argued that all day long. The reason why I wanted to argue that point was because there had to be something outside of me that was causing my anxiety. There simply had to be, no way I was creating it!
The reason that there had to be something outside of me that was causing my anxiety, was because the anxiety was completely out of control, and why would I do that to myself. I felt as if that something was pushing me to a place that I did not want to go and I had no control over it.
Let me repeat that when I was experiencing the greatest amount of anxiety in my life, there was no way for me to accept the fact that the anxiety was coming from within.
If you feel as if there is no way that this anxiety is coming from within, and not from outside of you. Then I highly suggest you sit down and make a list of all of the things that you feel are causing your anxiety.
As you do this you will start to see that everything outside of you, that you feel is causing your anxiety is something that you believe to be more powerful, or stronger than you. You feel as if you have no control over this force that is outside of you.
THIS IS A LIE. THAT YOUR MIND IS TELLING YOU.
You see, anxiety needs you to believe that anxiety is coming from the outside. The reason it needs to believe this is because it needs some sort of enemy, or something to be afraid of.
The reason I am telling you this, is because I wish someone had told me this when I was experiencing a great deal of anxiety.
The other reason I am telling you this is because it is true, and it will free you.
The road to recovery from anxiety, is accepting full responsibility for your current situation and experience.
If this seems to be too difficult for you, I hate to say it, but you are likely to continue to experience more anxiety as a result of not seeing this fact.
However at some point in the near future you will arrive at the place where you simply accept full responsibility for your current experience. As you do this your experience of anxiety will be dramatically different.
You will begin to experience a life with a lot less anxiety. Your panic attacks will begin to become further and further apart. Your sense of freedom within yourself, and within the world will begin to expand. As this sense of freedom begins to expand within yourself, and with in your life you will start to realize all along right from the very beginning that you were the one that was creating the anxiety all along.
Anxiety is nothing to be afraid of. It is just a feeling, within yourself (not outside). Although it is, and can be extremely strong at times it does not have the power to kill you or hurt you in anyway.
If there is any part of you that disagrees with that statement, it’s important to know that its anxiety that is telling you that.
My friend, your recovery from anxiety is inevitable. It is a guarantee. The first step is accepting full responsibility for the way you feel.
This means, understanding that there is nothing in your life that needs to change or be different for you to experience less anxiety / no anxiety and no panic attacks.
Nothing in your life needs to be different. Just the simple acceptance of where it truly comes from.
